Case Study 2 – Motorola
Background
Motorola have around 70 independent retailers in Australia and
New Zealand. The company was concerned at the lack of effectiveness
and
consistency in the in-store merchandising. This situation was
the result of individual retailers sourcing their own product.
Promotion Objective
Motorola’s objective was to stock a uniform range of quality
product, well designed and manufactured and affordable. The
product had to reflect the cutting-edge design of the Motorola
image.
Motorola also needed a simple, efficient ordering system
for retailers; a web-based merchandise program allowing
customers to view and
order on-line.
Strategy & Execution
We developed a “pick, pack and dispatch” system
of quality merchandise clothing. The system enables
customers to order product and receive the goods anywhere in Australia
or New
Zealand within three days. A range of 6-10 items is
designed and produced by Intandem every three months
that is then emailed by Motorola
to all their retailers. Retailers chose from a range
of sizes and colours and then order direct from Intandem.
Results
Intandem has received substantial orders
for the Motorola range apparel and very positive
feedback from the
retailers.
And as a result within a relatively short time,
the in-store
look and
branding has been substantially improved. For Motorola
this simple process barely requires any supervision
or management.
Intandem have worked with Motorola for over 5 years.
